Chicken soup was a type of soup made with chicken. When made with noodles, the soup was known as chicken noodle soup.

In 1969, Lieutenant Kyle offered chicken soup from a food synthesizer to an air police staff sergeant who had accidentally been transported aboard the USS Enterprise. The staff sergeant was amazed that it tasted like real chicken soup. (TOS: "Tomorrow is Yesterday")

In the late 2250s, chicken noodle soup was one of the many food items vomited out by food synthesizers when Me Hani Ika Hali Ka Po and Sylvia Tilly were in the mess hall aboard the USS Discovery. (ST: "Runaway")

.When Captain Kirk felt depressed about M-5 multitronic unit apparently making him useless in 2268, Kirk did not want Doctor McCoy bring him something, but McCoy replied he didn't bring chicken soup but a Finagle's Folly known "from here to Orion". (TOS: "The Ultimate Computer")

When confronted with a choice which had led to the death of Ahni Jetal in 2375, The Doctor mused with himself that he couldn't have done anything, as everything had been pre-determined twenty billion years ago, including particles binding together to "starships and holodecks and chicken soup". In an ultimately unused line of dialogue from the script of the 2009 film Star Trek, Montgomery Scott asked Spock if cockaleekie soup (a type of soup made with chicken and leeks, hence the name), among other foods, existed in the future Spock had come from (the other foods were "piece and jam," and "mince and tatties").
