A class 5 torpedo was a class of torpedo used aboard Crossfield-class starships in the 2250s.
In 2257, in an attempt at disabling SMT 05, a class 5 torpedo was fired by the USS Discovery. This torpedo exploded one hundred meters behind the shuttlecraft, resulting in the ship being temporary disabled. (DIS: "Saints of Imperfection")
