Clifford Thomas Fleming (born 25 June 1950; age 74) is a professional pilot, aerial expert, and occasional stuntman and stunt actor who performed the helicopter stunts in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. More recently he worked as pilot and aerial coordinator on J.J. Abrams' Star Trek.
Fleming was alongside pilot Dan Rudert involved in the 2004 Genesis probe mission. They caught the probe which was slowed down by a parachute with two helicopters shortly before its impact on earth.
His resume includes mostly roles as a helicopter pilot or stunt pilot and he has appeared in films such as Darkman (1990), Eve of Destruction (1991), Sliver (1993), Conspiracy Theory (1997), Sphere (1998), We Were Soldiers (2002), and The Aviator (2004), and in television series such as Extreme and Soldier of Fortune, Inc. (1998, with Mark Sheppard).
Fleming has also worked as a set pilot, occasional on-screen pilot, and aerial coordinator for films such as Die Hard 2 (1990), The Rocketeer (1991, starring William O. Campbell), Species (1995), Broken Arrow (1996, with Christian Slater), Mars Attacks! (1996), Face/Off (1997), The Horse Whisperer (1998), The General's Daughter (1999), Rules of Engagement (2000), Swordfish (2001), Windtalkers (2002), Hulk (2003), Batman Begins (2005), Jarhead (2005), Mission: Impossible III (2006), and Live Free or Die Hard (2007), and is an occasional aerial camera operator.
