The cove palm parasite was a parasite found in the fruit of the cove palm.
In 2367, Willie Potts ate one of these fruits, infecting himself with the parasites. With the aid of the laboratory of the medical facility at Starbase 416, the medical staff of the USS Enterprise-D were able to cure him. Before being cured, Willie was quarantined to prevent the infection spreading aboard the starship and, if the starbase was not as close to Ogus II (the home of the cove palm), he might have died.
