Curiosity was an individual's desire for learning more about a subject.

In 2151, when the crew of the Enterprise NX-01 were investigating an interesting comet that they designated Archer's Comet, they were joined by the Vulcan vessel Ti'Mur. Annoyed by their presence, Captain Jonathan Archer expressed that he wanted to know what they were really doing there, asking T'Pol if she didn't find anything suspicious about their simply showing up. She suggested that they might simply be curious, but Archer retorted that being curious didn't sound very Vulcan to him and that it was not the first time a Vulcan ship had been lurking around unexpectedly. (ENT: "Breaking the Ice")

In 2266, after Spock successfully obtained an image of Balok on the viewscreen, the commanding officer of the Fesarius trusted the attempt pleased the USS Enterprise bridge crew's curiosity about his form. (TOS: "The Corbomite Maneuver")

In 2364, Captain Jean-Luc Picard asked Counselor Deanna Troi's opinion on whether the Ligonians would injure the kidnapped Tasha Yar. Troi didn't believe so as the Ligonians seemed mainly curious, however, she did sense some sexual attraction from all the males. (TNG: "Code of Honor")
