Background information
- On 27 February 2019, it was announced that the series had been renewed for a third season. DIS Season 3
- On 18 March 2019, it was announced that series regular Anson Mount (Christopher Pike) and guest star Rebecca Romijn (Una) would not be returning for Season 3. [1]
- On 20 July 2019, it was announced that David Ajala (Cleveland Booker) had joined the cast.
- Alex Kurtzman stated about the first episode of this season, "Writing the [season three] premiere [was] like writing a pilot for a new show in many ways, and it's daunting in the way that you want it to be daunting, because you're not resting comfortable on anything." DIS Season 3
