From the makers of The Next Generation; Beyond the Final Frontier

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 2 was released on VHS in the UK in a two-episode-per-tape format by CIC Video in 1994.

CIC Video[]

From 1988 onward (starting with the The Next Generation rentals), the UK CIC Video releases had served as the template for all Star Trek tape releases in the rest of Europe, with local branches of CIC Video responsible for either subtitling or dubbing in the language of the target market, as well as optionally adapting sleeve cover art to local tastes. The Netherlands/Flanders video case sleeve cover art for example, was virtually indistinguishable from their UK counterparts, save for the ratings and text imprint language of the episode summaries/disclaimers on the back cover art, whereas some European countries, such as the Nordics, sometimes sported redesigned sleeve cover art.

Cover sleeves[]

CIC Video included stardates on its covers for each episode. These appeared even when no stardate was given in the episode. The back cover carried a quote from one of the episodes contained on the video. The plastic snapcase cover sleeves are double-printed with additional in-universe information printed on the backside, usually pertaining to one of the characters prominently featured in one of episodes as included on the tape in question. The case sleeve of tape 11 is the exception as its backside features a promotion for a "Star Trek Universe" map, especially commissioned by CIC Video on the occasion of the second season VHS releases.
