Dan Kuramoto is a multi-instrumentalist that is best know for leading the band Hiroshima.
He founded the band in east Los Angeles in 1974 along with his future wife, June.
They performed the song The Moon's a Window to Heaven for Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, and it was produced by Kuramoto. Kuramoto spoke with StarTrek.com about how the song came to be. [1]
In 2015, he composed the theme music for the TV show Simply Ming that was performed by Hiroshima and used from 2015-2018 and played the shakuhachi in 2001's Pearl Harbor film.
