Daniel "Danny" McCauley (25 August 191622 November 2004; age 88) was a prolific Hollywood assistant director, who worked as 1st AD on Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

McCauley's career spans more than four decades, during which he served as Assistant Director on countless classic Hollywood productions, including Cecil B. DeMille's The Greatest Show on Earth (1952) and The Ten Commandments (1956), Alfred Hitchcock's The Wrong Man (1956) and Vertigo (1958), Roman Polanski's Rosemary's Baby (1968), Elia Kazan's The Last Tycoon (1976), and TOS director Joseph Pevney's 3 Ring Circus (1954).
