David Ray Maier is an actor who played a Klingon descendant on Gaia in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine fifth season episode "Children of Time". He received no credit for this part. The original casting call was for, "The Nordic Klingon," a descendant of Worf.

Maier also played roles in Point of No Return (1993, with Miguel Ferrer, Olivia d'Abo, Mic Rodgers, Kenny Endoso, Gary Kasper, and Ronald R. Rondell) and Eye for an Eye (1996, with Armin Shimerman, Natalia Nogulich, Wayne Péré, Sierra Pecheur, Angela Paton, Michael Buchman Silver, Marie Chambers, Robert Clendenin, and Jack Janda), and in the Murphy Brown episode The Last Laugh (1990, with John Hostetter). As an occasional stunt performer he has worked on Kicking and Screaming (2005, with Musetta Vander, Rachael Harris, David Bowe, Matt Winston, Tom Virtue, and stunts by Richard L. Blackwell, Charlie Brewer, Paul Eliopoulos, and Webster Whinery).

He worked as a stand-in and photo double for stars such as Bob Einstien (Super Dave), Tim Robbins, Charlton Heston, and Dax Shepard in films such as The Extreme Adventures of Super Dave (2000), Town & Country (2001), Human Nature (2001), and Zathura: A Space Adventure (2005, with Derek Mears, Douglas Tait, and Jeff Wolfe).

In addition to his film work, David R. Maier is an artist and sells his historically themed and Apollo Space Program products at EDU-Craft Diversions.
