Dawnn J. Lewis (born 13 August 1961; age 60) is an American actress, singer, voice actress, and songwriter who voices Carol Freeman in Star Trek: Lower Decks. [1] She was nominated for an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance (Television). [2]

Lewis has also voiced characters in The Simpsons, King of the Hill (starring Pamela Segall and Stephen Root), and the 1990s Spider-Man animated series. She also performed a recurring role as LaBarbara Conrad on Futurama, where she played a character who was married to (Lower Decks co-star) Phil LaMarr's character Hermes Conrad. Additionally, she voices the occasional character, Professor Klabrax V, in the Cleopatra in Space series.

In live action, Lewis had a recurring role on Major Crimes from 2014-2018, which starred Jonathan Del Arco.
