"I don't want to die in space! I don't want to die in space!"
Dayton, 2380 ("Much Ado About Boimler")

Captain Dayton was a female Human Starfleet officer who lived during the mid-24th century.

Dayton once neglected to change the energy coils on her ship, and had to be rescued by Captain Amina Ramsey. According to Ramsey, Dayton was not known for her punctuality.

In 2380, Dayton was in command of the USS Rubidoux. On stardate 57752.6, the Rubidoux was invaded by a space entity that fed on energy. Dayton and her crew shut down power to the Rubidoux so that the entity attacking them wouldn't be able to feed.

Later, the USS Cerritos, under the temporary command of Captain Amina Ramsey, found the Rubidoux adrift in space, and an away team from the Cerritos beamed to the Rubidoux in environmental suits, where they found Dayton and her crew hiding in the cargo bay. The away team did not realize why power had been shut down until Lieutenant Durga was about to restore it, and interference prevented Ramsey from warning Durga not to, allowing the entity to resume feeding. During the rescue, Dayton lost control of herself and began panicking, so Beckett Mariner had to knock her out in order to evacuate her and her crew to the Cerritos before the entity consumed the whole ship. Later that year, Dayton was given command of the USS Solvang, a new California-class starship. The Solvang was attacked by Pakleds in the Kalla system, and her entire crew, including Dayton, was killed when Dayton ordered them to go to warp while a grappling arm was connected to the port nacelle. The Cerritos received a partial distress call, but her crew failed to take it seriously enough due to Dayton's skittishness and history of false alarms, leaving them unprepared for what awaited them, though Captain Carol Freeman realized the fatal mistake Dayton had made and was able to stop Commander Jack Ransom from repeating it. (LD: "No Small Parts")

Dayton was voiced by Gillian Vigman. [1]
