Decontamination gel was a medical substance used in the decontamination chamber aboard the NX-class Enterprise in the 2150s.
In 2152, the Takret Guri sniffed at a container of this gel while passing the decon chamber. (ENT: "The Catwalk")
As of 2382, Starbase 80 still used decontamination gel and chambers as their transporter was not safe for organic items. Commander Jack Ransom seemed to enjoy the gel greatly, carrying a can with him. Ransom later used some of the excess gel to help free Lieutenant Gene Jakobowski, who was stuck in an oxygen pipe. This gel was named by the call sheet of "The Catwalk".
