Tailhead alien, concept art

Westmore's concept sketeches

These aliens were nicknamed "tailheads" by Michael Westmore. A still image of two members of this species can be seen in the DS9 Season 1 DVD special feature "Deep Space Nine: A Bold Beginning" and Westmore discussed the make-up of these aliens in the special feature "Michael Westmore's Aliens: Season One".
Vincent Niebla worked on sculpting the head. Their make-up was changed slightly between DS9's seasons 2 and 3 and the black vertical stripe was added.

One recurring member of this species aboard Deep Space 9 was played by background actress Alexandra Collins, one appearing in "The Storyteller" was played by Alexander, and the others were played by unknown performers.

An operative of the True Way

This male alien was an operative of the True Way in 2372.

That year he was arrested on Deep Space 9 by Worf, and a number of Odo's deputies, after which he was taken to a holding cell. Worf summarized to Odo that the man in custody admitted that the True Way "provided him with an isolinear interface to access station systems," and that "he was attempting to use it to depressurize Shakaar's quarters by sabotaging the environmental controls." Worf continued "when he tried to access them, I traced the signal path back to him. He was operating out of an abandoned cargo hold on Level 31." (DS9: "Crossfire")

This alien was played by an unknown actor, and was simply described in the script as a "MALE ALIEN".

His costume was previously worn by Altovar, played by Victor Rivers, and was sold off on the It's A Wrap! sale and auction on eBay, where it was described as a Kazon/Illyrian costume. [6](X) It was later sold again through eBay and the current owner found several name tags in this costume, with parts worn by Tom Morga, Eric Hunter, Ken Wood, Mick T., Mickey Cassidy, Scott Hill, Jon Wright, David Winburn, and Tom Miller throughout Deep Space Nine, Voyager, and Enterprise.

Yellow-skinned alien []

This yellow-skinned female – of a semi-reptilian species with large eye sockets, large slit-shaped nostrils, and a bald, elongated skull – was an employee of Quark's who worked as one of his dabo girls beginning around 2369. She usually wore outfits that exposed the bottom of her breasts, as well as small jewels that were encrusted along the back of her head. (DS9: "Emissary")

She was in Quark's when Odo was visiting the bar, observing how good business was for Quark, which was acknowledged with Quark noting that there were "a lot of new faces". She was later working in Quark's when Constable Odo attacked Ibudan and later running the dabo wheel for several other players. (DS9: "A Man Alone")

Her initial appearance in the episode coincided with a point in the script that cued that "a very strange alien face passes by..."

Later that year, she was one of the many people watching the racquetball match between Julian Bashir and Miles O'Brien. (DS9: "Rivals")

In 2372, she, along with the whole staff of Quark's, went on strike against their employer. (DS9: "Bar Association")
