Second Fleet []
In late 2373, at least two of these starships belonged to the Second Fleet.
While the Dominion attacked Deep Space 9, during the second Battle of Deep Space 9, several of these vessels crossed the Cardassian border and destroyed the Dominion shipyards on Torros III. These ships later joined with the USS Defiant and IKS Rotarran, following the evacuation of DS9, for a counterattack against the Dominion forces. (DS9: "Call to Arms")
Recapture of the USS Prometheus []
In 2374, these two starships escorted an Akira-class starship into battle with the USS Prometheus, the T'Met and two other Romulan D'deridex-class warbirds.
During the battle one of the ships was damaged by a misguided photon torpedo that was fired from the Prometheus. (VOY: "Message in a Bottle")
Escort for USS Voyager []
In mid-2378, these four starships stationed near the Sol system were dispatched by Admiral Owen Paris to a defensive point near an opening Borg transwarp aperture near Earth.
The ships opened fire on the emerging Borg sphere and assisted in its destruction. Following the emergence of the USS Voyager from the debris, the unnamed Defiant-class starships assisted in escorting Voyager back to Earth. (VOY: "Endgame")
Section 31 ship []
This ship, which was equipped with a cloaking device, was slightly modified with a darker hull, elongated (outward) nacelles, and blue colored Bussard collectors.
In 2381, it retrieved the torpedo casing that William Boimler was launched from following his faked death aboard the USS Titan. He was subsequently revived and recruited into Section 31. (LD: "Crisis Point 2: Paradoxus")
Earth Spacedock[]
This Defiant class starship was shown in orbit of Sol Station in 2401. (Star Trek: Picard season 3 end credits)
A total of eighteen ships of the class were a short time thereafter gathered at the same location for the Frontier Day celebrations. (PIC: "Võx", "The Last Generation")
