The library in Star Trek

The Delmar T. Oviatt Library is a library located on the campus of the California State University, Northridge in California, USA, established in October 1973.

Parts of the library were used on a matte painting to portray the surface of the Mari homeworld in the Star Trek: Voyager fourth season episode "Random Thoughts" in 1997.

In 2008, the library was used as filming location for the eleventh Star Trek film, Star Trek. It stood in as Starfleet Academy ground in San Francisco on Earth.

Other productions which used the library as filming location include the television series Medical Center (1973-1976), MacMillan and Wife (1977), Project UFO (1978-1979), as a Cylon base in Battlestar Galactica (1978), Cliffhangers (1979), The Misfits of Science (1985-1986, with Kevin Peter Hall), Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (1993-1996), The Profiler, Columbo, Roswell (2001, with William Sadler), Buffy, the Vampire Slayer (2003, with Anthony Stewart Head), Joan of Arcadia, Night Stalker (2005), Close to Home (2006), Commander in Chief (2006), CSI: Crime Scene Investigative Service (2007), and Knight Rider (2008).

Films in which the library appeared include Time Walker (1982, with Antoinette Bower and Vanna Bonta), The Deliberate Stranger (1986, with Lawrence Pressman, Jeannetta Arnette, William Boyett, Terry Farrell, Cecile Callan, Peter Vogt, and Willie Garson), Son in Law (1993, with Dan Gauthier, Graham Jarvis, and Garret Sato), The Princess and the Marine (2001, with Iona Morris), Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde (2003, with Bruce McGill, Bruce Thomas, Ruth Williamson, David Doty, Michael Krawic, Keone Young, and James Read), and Sky High (2005).
