Denaxi Depot in 2384
The depot's interior
Denaxi Depot was a station located on the surface of the planet Denaxi near the Romulan Neutral Zone in the late 24th century. Overseen by the Xindi-Reptilians, it was the only major transportation hub in its sector, and was known to be a haven for smugglers and those who wished to disappear.
In 2384, Lieutenant Barniss Frex was deposited at Denaxi Depot by an Orion crew that rescued him from the destruction of CR-721. A short time later, the crew of the USS Protostar arrived to seek transportation to the nearest Federation starbase, having hidden their vessel nearby. Coincidentally, an away team from the USS Dauntless had also arrived to retrieve Frex.
Due to several misunderstandings, the Protostar crew had to flee from Vice Admiral Kathryn Janeway before they could explain their situation to her. They were able to evade the Xindi-Reptilian guards and the Dauntless with the assistance of Captain Thadiun Okona, who was visiting the depot with a load of contraband on the Erstwhile.
