In 2259 of the alternate reality, upon James T. Kirk's awakening following a transfusion of Khan Noonien Singh's blood, Leonard McCoy questioned whether Kirk was feeling homicidal, power-mad or despotic. Kirk replied, "No more than usual." (Star Trek Into Darkness)
In 2268, Korax referred to James T. Kirk as an "overbearing, tin-plated dictator with delusions of godhood" in an attempt to coerce a fight from the USS Enterprise crew. (TOS: "The Trouble with Tribbles")
Also that year, Leonard McCoy noted that among other vices, the citizens of 892-IV had despotism. (TOS: "Bread and Circuses")
In 2374, after Gul Dukat told Kira Nerys that he would meet with her at 2130 hours, unless he was unavoidably detained, she quipped, "Ah, the busy life of an interstellar despot." (DS9: "Sons and Daughters")
