Doctari Alpha was the site of the Doctari Alpha Research Outpost, a Vulcan colony and Human-Vulcan research facility. Located near Alpha Lupi, it had at least two suns and at least one natural satellite. The planet surface was dark red in color (not unlike Mars). (DIS: "Perpetual Infinity")
History
In 2236, the nearby star Alpha Lupi was scheduled to go supernova. Three days before the event, a Klingon terror raid targeted the outpost.
As the attack took place, Mike and Gabrielle Burnham hid their daughter in a cabinet. The Klingons entered the dwelling despite her father's effort to barricade the door, and killed him almost immediately, but fought with her mother before killing her. They then sat down to the family's table and ate their dinner. (DIS: "The Vulcan Hello", "Lethe", "Will You Take My Hand?")
Michael Burnham believed that both of her parents were killed and that they had only stayed because she had asked them to postpone a vacation to Mars to see the supernova. (DIS: "Will You Take My Hand?")
However, in reality, the Burnhams were stationed on the planet because they were working on a secret Section 31 time travel research project named "the Daedalus Project". The Klingons attacked the station in pursuit of a time crystal that had been obtained by Operative Leland on the Orion black market. (DIS: "The Red Angel", "Perpetual Infinity")

Vulcan ambassador Sarek took in Michael Burnham as his legal ward following the attack. (DIS: "Lethe") Later, during her Vulcan schooling, a skill dome elicited an emotional response from Burnham by asking questions about the raid on Doctari Alpha and number of survivors, showing images of the attack.
