Doug Jung (born 21 January) is a screenwriter who co-wrote the script for Star Trek Beyond with Simon Pegg. [1] In addition, Jung appears as Ben, husband of Hikaru Sulu, in the film. [2]
Jung previously worked as creator, writer and executive producer on the crime drama television series Dark Blue between 2009 and 2010, which featured Star Trek performers Bertrand Roberson, Jr., Philip Anthony-Rodriguez, Patrick Fischler, Andrew Borba, Henri Lubatti, Jamie McShane, John Pyper-Ferguson, Daniel Roebuck, and Michael Buchman Silver and casting by April Webster.
In 1995, Jung worked as assistant to the directors on the comedy Dr. Jekyll and Ms. Hyde followed by writing credits for the television series So Weird (1999) and Breaking News (2002) and Confidence (2003, with Leland Orser, Tommy "Tiny" Lister, Jr., Elle Alexander, and Robert Pine).
Jung wrote and produced the second season of the drama series Big Love in 2007 as well as working as producer on the specials Big Love: In the Beginning in 2007. Casting for this series was done by Junie Lowry-Johnson and Libby Goldstein. Jung worked as writer on two episodes of the action series Banshee (2014). He is also working as executive producer and writer on WGN America's adaptation of the DC comic Scalped. [3]
More recently, Jung wrote the screenplay for the science fiction thriller God Particle (2017, produced by J.J. Abrams, Lindsey Weber, and Tommy Harper and cinematography by Dan Mindel).
