Drednok was an artificial lifeform who served The Vindicator during the late 24th century. This Drednok was characterized by his unique bronze coloring which set Drednok apart from the rest of his race.
History[]
Constructed on Solum in the 25th century, Drednok was paired with the Vau N'Akat operative and sent on a Rev-12 type alongside one hundred other pairs through a temporal anomaly by The Order. Their mission was to recover the USS Protostar and the living construct after he was lost somewhen in the past as it was integral to the Order's plot against the Federation.
The team managed to survive the collapse of the wormhole and ended up in the Alpha Quadrant in 2381. As the Vindicator infiltrated the ranks of Starfleet under the disguise of the Trill Ensign "Asencia", Drednok was hidden as a piece of furniture. (PRO: "Preludes")
In 2384, Drednok, who was hidden as a table in Asencia's quarters onboard the USS Dauntless, was activated by his partner after the near-destruction of the Protostar. (PRO: "Masquerade")
Drednok was present when Gwyn attempted to convince Solum's ruling council of the Federation's peaceful intentions. He displayed a holographic image of the destroyed future Solum for the council as a part of Asencia's argument that Gwyn and the Federation couldn't be trusted. (PRO: "Into the Breach, Part II")
After Asencia captured Ilthuran, Drednok stood guard over him. (PRO: "Ascension, Part I")
Following the capture of the Protostar crew, Drednok stood behind Asencia as she broadcast a message on all subspace frequencies, revealing the capture of the "spies" and challenging Vice Admiral Kathryn Janeway to come herself to rescue the crew. Drednok was also present at Asencia's attempted execution of the Protostar crew and stood guard outside before being drawn away by an alarm. (PRO: "Touch of Grey")
During the final battle for Solum, Drednok was destroyed by Murf while trying to stop Dal R'El and Jankom Pog from sending the Protostar back in time to fix the universe. The Mellanoid slime worm managed to drop Drednok into a pit of gathering temporal energy while tearing off his head. When Murf reappeared, he was carrying Drednok's severed head while Jankom Pog had earlier warned that the temporal energy that Drednok fell into would "scatter your particles to the next century."
