An EPI capacitor was an energy tool used by Starfleet in the 24th century.

In 2369 Chief Miles O'Brien used such a device to power the hatch servos of the runabout USS Ganges. The Ganges had lost all power due to a power failure while on a routine mission in the Gamma Quadrant. (DS9: "Q-Less")
