Edward J. Franklin (born 1 October 1965; age 58) is a special effects artist whose work includes several episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and Star Trek: Voyager, and Star Trek Generations, Star Trek: First Contact, and Star Trek: Insurrection. He received no credit for his work.

Born as Edward Joseph Frankelstein in the Bronx, New York, USA, he worked in the special effects department on Aliens (1986, with Jenette Goldstein and Mark Rolston), A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987, with Craig Wasson and Brooke Bundy), Mastersof the Universe (1987, starring Frank Langella, Meg Foster, Robert Duncan McNeill, and Anthony De Longis), Near Dark (1987, with Jenette Goldstein), Beetlejuice (1988, with Winona Ryder), Mission: Impossible (1996), Batman & Robin (1997, with John Glover), Space: Above and Beyond (1995-1996, starring Lanei Chapman and Tucker Smallwood) and EZ Streets (1996), and The Last Day of Summer (2007, with Sean Whalen).

Franklin was also the set constructor on Moloney (1996-1997), worked as a visual effects artist on Mars Attacks! (1996) and Deep Rising (1998, starring Famke Janssen), served as art department purchaser on Mission to Mars (2000), and appeared as a background actor in the comedy The Benchwarmers (2006).
