An electric violin was a type of stringed instrument that used electricity.
Ensign Brad Boimler played an electric violin. He dedicated several compositions, such as "Essence" and "Requiem for a Hug", to his mother. Unfortunately, his violin was destroyed when Lieutenant Shaxs believed it was the source of the loud noise. (LD: "Temporal Edict")
Boimler later obtained another violin, which was transformed into a D'Arsay artifact by Minooki in 2381. (LD: "Room for Growth")
