Ellen J. Hornstein (born 10 December 1971; age 52) served as a production assistant on Star Trek: First Contact and as an assistant for Jonathan Frakes on Star Trek: Insurrection. She is the niece of Star Trek producer/ unit production manager Marty Hornstein.

Hornstein is also a personal assistant and story editor for Jonathan Frakes on his production company "Goepp Circle Productions" and served in this position also for his 2002 science fiction film Clockstoppers, which featured the Star Trek performers Ken Jenkins, Scott Thomson, Gina Hecht, Billy Mayo, Jenette Goldstein, Jeff Ricketts, and Frakes' himself.

Prior to her work for Frakes, Hornstein served as construction production assistant for the 1996 fantasy film The Crow: City of Angels, in which Iggy Pop played a major part. Beginning with the year 2003, Hornstein has served as assistant for director/ producer David B. Householter. In this position she participated on films such as Elf (2003), Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (2006), Norbit (2007), and the upcoming comedy Step Brothers (set for 2008), which featured Adam Scott.
