The Emmette-type was a type of starship operated on Earth and by the Terran Empire before the NX-class of starships.
This type of starship used rocket-like nozzles on the aft end of the ship. (Star Trek: Enterprise opening credits)
In the mirror universe, ships of this type were equipped with photonic torpedoes, and one of them was seen firing at the lunar surface. (ENT: "In a Mirror, Darkly", "In a Mirror, Darkly, Part II", opening credits)

Background information[]
Seen only as an aft view in the opening credits, this model would inspire the "Warp Delta" starships, also seen in both the prime and mirror universes. [1]
Model and sequence were constructed at Foundation Imaging, whereas the In a Mirror, Darkly version was modified at Foundation's successor, Eden FX. (episode credits)
According to Issue #124 of the Star Trek: The Official Starships Collection, there was only one Emmette-type starship, which was used as a test vehicle. This type was approximately 130 meters in length, had a maximum speed between warp factor 1 and 2, and an approximate crew complement of 20 or 30. With advances in warp technology, this type was replaced by Starfleet with the Warp Delta type starships.
