Epsilon Indi III was the inhabited third planet in the Epsilon Indi system. This planet was located approximately 11.867 light years (3.6 parsecs) from the Sol system. It was affiliated with the United Federation of Planets.
As of 2261, the planet was home to a Federation colony with a population of four thousand people. In that year, the USS Enterprise delivered a vaccine to help the colonists fight off a pandemic. (SNW: "Terrarium")
This planet's quadrant of origin was inferred based on its star system's proximity to neighboring stars – 61 Cygni, Alpha Centauri, Procyon, Sol, Tau Ceti, and Wolf 359 – as seen in the star charts appearing in the Star Trek: Discovery episode "Magic to Make the Sanest Man Go Mad" and in the Star Trek: Picard episode "Maps and Legends".
