The bus that Seven of Nine and Raffaela Musiker rode to get to the Clinica Las Mariposas hospital had a Europa Mission sign on the side of it. The park that Guinan took Jean-Luc Picard to to meet the Watcher at also had a Europa Mission sign next to a bench. Also, when Q was sitting at a table at Jackson Roykirk Plaza, he was wearing a uniform with the Europa Mission mission patch on it, while reading an issue of the Los Angeles Times with an article about the Europa Mission. On launch day, Dr. Adam Soong attempted to kill Renée with a fast-acting neurotoxin while launching drones to destroy the mission's spaceship as a backup plan. However, Tallinn disguised herself as Renée and sacrificed herself to save Renée's life while Raffi and Cristóbal Rios managed to stop Soong's drones, allowing the mission to safely launch. The Europa Mission would go on to play a critical part in Earth's history as Renée discovered a microorganism on Io that she believed was sentient and she convinced the mission commander to bring it back to Earth. (PIC: "Fly Me to the Moon") This discovery was crucial to preventing humanity's impending extinction due to pollution and climate change with Ricardo eventually forming a team of the brightest minds in the world who were able to figure out how to use it to heal the oceans and clean the air. (PIC: "Mercy", "Farewell")
In an alternate timeline, Q successfully prevented Renée's participation in the Europa Mission, causing humanity to turn to Soong instead, eventually leading to the creation of the Confederation of Earth. (PIC: "Mercy")
