The Arawath Colony in 2370.

The Arawath Colony was a Cardassian settlement in the Alpha Quadrant. Enabran Tain moved there after his retirement from the Obsidian Order.

In 2370, Dr. Julian Bashir sought out Tain at the Arawath Colony for help in removing Garak's malfunctioning cranial implant. (DS9: "The Wire")

Appendices[]

Background information[]

This colony's quadrant of origin is inferred based on the position of the Cardassian Union as seen in the star chart appearing in the Star Trek: Picard episode "Maps and Legends".

According to StarTrek.com, the colony was named after either a planet or star named Arawath. [1] The website, additionally, stated the pronunciation for Arawath was "AIR-uh-wath"; however, according to the script pronunciation guide for the episode, Arawath was pronounced as "AIR-a-wath". [2]

The planet model for the Arawath Colony was first used for L-S VI ("The Alternate"), and was later used for Bopak III ("Hippocratic Oath").

According to Star Trek: Star Charts (p. 46) and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Stellar Cartography", pp. 18-19; "Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385"), there was a star system named Arawath, in which this colony might possibly have been located. The primary was a M-class star. According to a map of the Cardassian Union – prepared by an anonymous astrography clerk, from the Cardassian Central Archives, in 2364 – Arawath was identified as a Cardassian system.

Apocrypha[]

In Star Trek Online, the Arawath system was the staging point for the reformed Terran Empire's raids in the prime universe.
