Georgiou flashes back to her bloodied hand over San's body

San was an individual from the mirror universe.

In 3189, Philippa Georgiou began having flashbacks to her earlier life in the Terran Empire, including standing over San's bloody body. (DIS: "Scavengers", "The Sanctuary")

Before being sent back in time by the Guardian of Forever, Georgiou told Michael Burnham that "I wish I'd learned all this before now. I had a chance, once, long ago. He was called San. I wish I told you about him." Burnham encouraged Georgiou to tell the people that she was about to meet instead. (DIS: "Terra Firma, Part 2")

San was played by Jhaleil Swaby.

The character first appeared in the Gallery DIS novel Die Standing.
