Daniel C. Carlson (born 30 June 1981; age 42), also known as User:MinutiaeMan, is one of the two original founders of the Memory Alpha encyclopedia, along with Harry Doddema.

In 2015, the two were approached by Simon Pegg and Paramount Pictures for some assistance with portions of Star Trek Beyond. In spite of their long absence from, and without deference to, the site itself that had drawn Pegg's attention, they took up Paramount's request, and themselves named the mineral Spock gave Nyota Uhura in an amulet: vokaya. [1] [2](X) For their input both men received acknowledgement in the end credit roll of the movie. [3]

Carlson has written an detailed account of their involvement with the movie, published on the website Star Trek Minutiae.
