The USS Callisto (NCC-65616) was a 24th century Federation starship operated by Starfleet.

In 2364, Captain Seth Goldberg was the commander of this ship. In that year, on stardate 41607.9, this starship received a mission order about the exploration of Gamma Argus II from Vice Admiral Maxwell Headroom of the Planetary Geosciences Division. According to this order, the Callisto had been assigned a mission to the planet Gamma Argus II. The parameters of this mission included a cultural evolution study and, at the discretion of the captain, an initial first contact. Under the terms of this first contact scenario, Captain Goldberg would be acting as an agent of the United Federation of Planets. The captain was to acknowledge this order on subspace com net security code 045, code 100 alpha.

This starship was following up on a mission taken earlier that year by the USS Mustang, and would be succeeded in the system by the USS Enterprise-D. This latter ship had been ordered to the system by Admiral Gregory Quinn of Starfleet Operational Support Services.

Later that year, this order was read by Lieutenant Commander Data during an investigation into an alleged conspiracy in the highest levels of Starfleet Command. (TNG: "Conspiracy" okudagram)

This starship was only mentioned in writing.
This ship was presumably named for Jupiter's moon Callisto.
