The Finibus system was a star system located in a remote area of Federation space in the Alpha or Beta Quadrant. It was a binary star system consisting of a black hole and a brown dwarf, which was in the process of being consumed by the black hole, and having six planets.
In 2259, the USS Enterprise visited the system and found the Federation colony on Finibus III destroyed by the Gorn. The ship nearly fell victim to a Gorn ambush itself but managed to evade them. (SNW: "Memento Mori")
