For the gladiator from Earth's history, please see Flavius.
For the similarly credited 892-IV gladiator, please see Maximus.

Flavius Maximus was a native of the planet 892-IV who rejected the Roman way of life to follow the Children of the Son, a group of dissidents that preached equality, compassion and the teachings of the Son of the one true God. Prior to joining the Children of the Son, and becoming a slave, he was the most popular and successful gladiator in his province for seven years running.

In 2268, Flavius was captured and forced to fight again, on the televised series Name the Winner which featured the arena games. He was killed by the Praetorian Guards' machine-gun fire while trying to prevent the execution of USS Enterprise Captain James T. Kirk. (TOS: "Bread and Circuses")

Flavius was played by actor Rhodes Reason.
