A force field box was a small, intensely strong container designed to hold highly volatile substances for short periods of time.

In 2269, Montgomery Scott rigged up a force field box and transported a piece of antimatter from the villi of the cosmic cloud into it, in order to release it into the USS Enterprise's antimatter engine and recharge it. (TAS: "One of Our Planets Is Missing")

The force field box fullfills an identical function as a magnetic bottle.
