Netflix (and presumably CBS All Access? EDIT: or not [1]) has official Klingon subtitles for the whole of Star Trek: Discovery. I presume that they can be used as canon for the spelling of dialogue actually spoken in Klingon (just like we sometimes use official subtitles to determine the spelling of various names etc.). However, can the Klingon subtitles for dialogue in English be considered canon Klingonese? Or just the parts actually spoken in Klingon? JagoAndLitefoot (talk) 22:02, September 25, 2017 (UTC)

No because they're not on screen and not canon. If the native Klingonese spellings for the English scenes are in the shooting script perhaps, otherwise it's a background note. I'm not sure if burned-in (as in not optional) subtitles take precedence over the shooting script but that's not the case here.-- Compvox (talk) 10:10, September 27, 2017 (UTC)
