Jaro Essa

Frank Langella as Jaro Essa.

Actor Frank Langella (born January 1, 1940) played Jaro Essa in the first three episodes of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine's second season: "The Homecoming," "The Circle," and "The Siege." He was uncredited in all of his appearances.

Langella earned a Golden Globe nomination as Most Promising Newcomer (Male) for his supporting role in 1970's Diary of a Mad Housewife. He is perhaps best remembered, however, for his portrayal of Count Dracula in the 1979 version of the story.

Other motion pictures he has appeared in include Masters of the Unviverse (with Robert Duncan McNeill, Meg Foster, and Anthony De Longis) (1987), Dave (1993), Cutthroat Island (1995), and Lolita (1997). He also lent his voice to the film Small Soldiers, which also featured an appearance by Star Trek: Voyager actor Robert Picardo.

He starred as Perry White in the Bryan Singer directed 2006 film Superman Returns.
