Frank Salsedo (20 May 19293 July 2009; age 80), also known as Frank "Grey Wolf" Sotonoma Salsedo, was an actor who appeared as an Enterprise officer in the recreation deck scenes in Star Trek: The Motion Picture. Fifteen years later, Salsedo was one of the Native American actors cast by John Saint John as a Tribal Council member for the Star Trek: The Next Generation seventh season episode "Journey's End". For both appearances, Salsedo was not listed in the credits.

Born as Frank Fernando Salseda in Santa Rosa, California in 1929, Salsedo graduated from Sherman Institute in Riverside, California, enlisted into the Navy, and graduated from Sawyer's Business College. Years later, Salsedo became president of Jay Silverheel's acting school for Native American actors in Los Angeles, California and started to work as an actor himself. A short time later he became a member of the Screen Actors Guild.

Salsedo passed away on 3 July 2009 in Manteca, California at the age of 80. [1]

Salsedo started his acting career in the 1970s with supporting roles in the television drama I Will Fight No More Forever (1975, with Ned Romero and Nick Ramus), the western Across the Great Divide (1976, with Heather Rattray), and the television western The Quest: The Longest Drive (1976, with John Rubinstein and Gary Lockwood) and guest roles in episodes of The Quest (1976, with Geno Silva, Bibi Besch, and Walker Edmiston), Code R (1977), The Six Million Dollar Man (1977), CBS Afternoon Playhouse (1978, with Joshua Gallegos), and Centennial (1979, with Cliff DeYoung, Brian Keith, Sally Kellerman, Stephen McHattie, Anthony Zerbe, Michael Ansara, Robert DoQui, Alex Henteloff, and Nick Ramus).

In the 1980s, he worked on the horror thriller The Ghost Dance (1980), the television western The Legend of Walks Far Woman (1982, with Nick Ramus, Branscombe Richmond, and Ralph Brannen), the television drama The Mystic Warrior (1984, starring Robert Beltran and with Nick Ramus, Ned Romero, Ron Soble, Branscombe Richmond, Geno Silva, George Aguilar, and Joshua Gallegos), the comedy When Nature Calls (1985, with David Orange and Gates McFadden), the horror sequel Creepshow 2 (1987, with Tom Wright), the television movie Carly's Web (1987, with Daphne Ashbrook, Cyril O'Reilly, Gregory Itzin, Robert Symonds, and K Callan), and the adventure Journey to Spirit Island (1988, with Gabriel Damon and Nick Ramus).

Salsedo also appeared in a number of television series including House Calls (1982, with Ray Buktenica and Stephen Brooks), Buffalo Bill (1983, with Joanna Cassidy, John Fiedler, and Biff Yeager), Stingray (1987, with Nick Ramus), CBS Summer Playhouse (1988, with Ada Maris, David Bowe, Nick Ramus, and Conrad Hurtt), Hunter (1989, with Charles Hallahan, Lorine Mendell, and Bruce Davison), McGee and Me! (1989, with Eve H. Brenner), Superior Court (1989), Quantum Leap (1990, starring Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell and with Leon Rippy), Northern Exposure (1990 and 1993), and a memorable performance in Picket Fences (1993, with Justin Shenkarow, Kelly Connell, Michael Keenan, and Ray Walston).

Salsedo played the recurring role of Sam Trueheart in four episodes of the fantasy series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Power Rangers Zeo in 1996. Between 1995 and 2000, he appeared in six episodes of the television series Walker, Texas Ranger as White Eagle. On these episodes he worked with fellow Trek alumni Noble Willingham, Craig Wasson, Leon Rippy, and Michael Bofshever. Salsedo also appeared in episodes of Profiler (1997, with Dennis Christopher) and [{{fullurl:Wikipedia:JAG (TV series}}} JAG] (1998, with Nick Tate).

His most recent acting work includes the short films The White Room (2000) and Pennyman (2002, with John Saint John) and guest roles in [{{fullurl:Wikipedia:Angel (1999 TV series}}} Angel] (2001, with Daniel Dae Kim and Scott Workman) and Lizzie McGuire (2002, with Hallie Todd).
