Fried chicken

A plate of fried chicken

Fried chicken was a popular Human food made from the meat of a chicken, covered in a batter, and deep fried in oil. It can be served in pieces of leg, thigh, breast and wing, but also served in strips and bite size pieces called nuggets. It is usually served with a side of French fries.

Enterprise NX-01's Chef planned to serve fried chicken with scalloped potatoes and Minaran spinach on August 12th, 2152. However, he fell ill, and Ensign Hoshi Sato replaced the menu item with her family's recipe for oden. (ENT: "Singularity")

Fried chicken was one of B'Elanna Torres' favorite foods. While she was pregnant, Tom Paris sometimes surprised her with a dish of fried chicken. However, once when The Doctor impersonated her, he almost gave away his cover by yelling at him that a pregnant woman shouldn't be eating fried chicken, and that it could give her an arterial occlusion. (VOY: "Renaissance Man")

In the first draft script of ENT: "Fusion" (which had the working title "Equilibrium"), a meal of fried chicken was shared between Trip Tucker and Fraht, in Enterprise's mess hall. In the equivalent scene from the final draft of the script, however, the contents of this meal isn't clarified.
Fried chicken is also mentioned in the Pocket DS9 novel Antimatter.
