The fuel consumption log was a log automatically maintained by engines, which recorded the fuel status and consumption.
In 2369, when a runabout used by Captain Picard, Deanna Troi, Data, and Geordi La Forge experienced contact with temporal fragments, the starboard antimatter pod lost its fuel completely. After Data checked the status using the plasma conversion sensor, they learned that the starboard engine had been in continuous use for 47 days. La Forge would not believe this and checked the sensors, while Picard checked the fuel consumption log. (TNG: "Timescape")
