Furnishings were pieces of art that a designer, or more particularly a decorator, could use to make an interior, such as ones' quarters for example, more aesthetically pleasing.

Furnishings usually included things such as fine china, curtains and carpets.

In 1881, Skipworth and Co advertised "Ladies and Gents" furnishings at reduced prices in the Tombstone Epitaph. (TOS: "Spectre of the Gun")

In 2374, when Quark was searching for valuable belongings of Morn, Odo suggested that Morn might have spent all his money for furnishings and works of art for his quarters. (DS9: "Who Mourns for Morn?")
