Galardonians were a warp-capable pig-like humanoid species from the planet Galardon in the Galar system.
Their government was known as the Galardonian High Council. (LD: "Second Contact")
History[]
In 2379, they made first contact with the USS Quito. Beckett Mariner, prior to her demotion, served on this starship at that time, which was how she learned that some of the Galardonians were facing famine.
A year later, the USS Cerritos arrived to assist the Galardonians with the construction of a communication array that would allow continued communication with the United Federation of Planets. (LD: "Second Contact")
In the following couple of years, the crew of USS Cerritos encountered a number of Galardonians who had traveled off world, in places such as Qualor II, Tulgana IV, the Dove, and the cruise ship Cosmic Duchess. By 2381, Galardonian milk had become available for trade off-world. (LD: "Hear All, Trust Nothing")
Physiology[]
Some Galardonians had horns on their heads, while others lacked them. Their skin was spotted and purplish in color. They had sharp teeth, large tube-like ears, and upturned noses.
Galardonians were also smaller in stature than most humanoids. (LD: "Second Contact")
Culture[]
Galardonians were known farmers, keeping livestock such as the spider cow. Some of these farmers were on the verge of starvation due to a lack of farm tools.
Ensign Beckett Mariner, while serving aboard the Cerritos, went against Starfleet regulation by giving Galardonian farmers some farming equipment, such as shovels and hoes, which she transported in a crate on a stolen Argo-type ground vehicle. (LD: "Second Contact")
