Gamma Vertis IV was the inhabited fourth planet in its star system. This was the homeworld for a civilization of mutes. Kirk likened Gem's species to this civilization in 2268. (TOS: "The Empath")

This planet was only mentioned in dialogue.
The Star Trek: Enterprise novel A Choice of Futures interprets the aliens seen in ENT: "Silent Enemy" (nicknamed "Shroomies") as the mute inhabitants of Gamma Vertis IV.
