"Gaudaal's Lament" was a 22nd century poem written by the Bajoran poet Akorem Laan.
In 2372, Major Kira Nerys recalled this piece as one of Akorem's works. She noted that "any schoolchild could recite 'Gaudaal's Lament' from memory." (DS9: "Accession")
According to the script, Gaudaal was pronounced as "guh-DAHL". [1]
