George C. Villaseñor (23 April 193114 May 2009; age 78) was an assistant film editor on Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home and Star Trek V: The Final Frontier. He worked under editor Peter E. Berger on both films.

Villaseñor began his career in the industry as a driver for television producer Don Fedderson in the 1950s. Villaseñor worked in the editorial department at Don Fedderson productions for some ten years, after which Fedderson offered him a position as an assistant editor. As an assistant editor at Don Fedderson Productions, Villaseñor worked on such television series as Family Affair (which starred Brian Keith) and My Three Sons as a Sound Editor.

Villaseñor later moved to feature films. In the 1970s, he worked as an assistant to editor Byron "Buzz" Brandt on such films as Across 110th Street (1972) and Breakheart Pass (1975). The latter featured David Huddleston, Jill Ireland, Roy Jenson, and Ed Lauter in the cast, and was scored by Jerry Goldsmith.

Villaseñor first collaborated with film editor Peter E. Berger on the 1981 comedy-drama First Monday in October, produced and released by Paramount Pictures. Following their second collaboration on Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, Villaseñor and Berger worked together on the 1987 drama Less Than Zero and the 1987 Paramount thriller Fatal Attraction. Thomas R. Bryant, who collaborated with Villaseñor on Star Trek IV, was also an assistant editor on Fatal Attraction.

In 1988, Villaseñor assisted Berger on the drama The Good Mother. This film, like Star Trek IV, was directed by Leonard Nimoy. This was followed by Star Trek V in 1989. Villaseñor and Berger worked together one last time on the 1991 Paramount thriller Dead Again. Star Trek: First Contact and Star Trek: Insurrection cinematographer Matthew F. Leonetti was Director of Photography on this film.

Villaseñor was the lead film editor on two films for director John Cassavetes: Gloria (1980) and Love Streams (1984). The cast of the latter included Seymour Cassel. Villaseñor also co-edited the 1985 film The Slugger's Wife. In addition, Villaseñor assisted in the editing of the 1982 films Annie and The Toy.

Following the completion of Dead Again in 1991, Villaseñor retired and moved to Grants Pass, Oregon. He has stated that he retired at the right time, as he dreaded the oncoming era of computer editing.

Villaseñor died at his home on 14 May 2009 following an eight-year battle with cancer. He was 78 years old. He was survived by his son, Paul, and two daughters, Georgine and Janine.
