George De La Peña (born 9 December 1955; age 69) is the actor who played Solis in the Star Trek: The Next Generation first season episode "The Arsenal of Freedom".
An accomplished ballet dancer, De La Peña was a former soloist with the American Ballet Theater. His Broadway credits include On Your Toes, The Red Shoes and Woman of the Year. He also had a featured role in the original Los Angeles performances of Cats.
In film, De La Peña starred in the movie Nijinsky, which explored the life of a mentally unstable dancer. Although well-publicized and a moderately favorable critical reception, the movie was an afterthought among the public. Since then, De La Peña has enjoyed important roles in several largely unheralded theatrical releases, such as Brain Donors and One Last Dance.
He also played the lead villain, Sam Johnson, in 1992's Kuffs, opposite Christian Slater, Leon Rippy, and Ashley Judd.
He also guest-starred on three episodes of L.A. Law and made a single appearance on Murder, She Wrote.
