Geskana goal

Geskana was a sport played by Zobral's clan which resembled the Earth sport of lacrosse. Unlike lacrosse, however, the goals were smaller. The game's duration was counted in quarters. Jonathan Archer and Charles Tucker III once enjoyed an opportunity to play geskana. (ENT: "Desert Crossing")

There are two references to one of the game's quarters in "Desert Crossing". In the episode's final draft script, both of these references were instead to a "round". Also, in ultimately unused dialogue from that episode, Tucker humorously commented, "That game would be a lot easier if it were played indoors... with air-conditioning."

The geskana, according to the Star Trek Encyclopedia, 4th ed., vol. 1, p. 261, was somewhat reminiscent of "man in the middle" on Earth or a game played by the Dekendi.
