Goggles were a type of eyewear worn to protect one's eyes from dangerous chemicals, debris, and light.

Captain Proton wore goggles. (VOY: "Thirty Days")

Pilots in the 20th century wore goggles when flying. As part of their Battle of Britain holosuite program, Miles O'Brien and Julian Bashir wore goggles as a component of their authentic Royal Air Force uniforms. (DS9: "Homefront")

Goggles very similar to these were worn by a visitor to a Paradise City bar on Nimbus III in 2287. (Star Trek V: The Final Frontier)

In 2155, goggles were worn by the members of an away team from Enterprise NX-01 while they walked on the surface of Mars. (ENT: "Terra Prime")

In 2254, the landing party from the USS Enterprise wore goggles while firing the laser cannon on the surface of Talos IV. (TOS: "The Cage")

In 2256, Captain Philippa Georgiou and Commander Michael Burnham wore specialty goggles protecting them from the sandstorm while on the Crepusculan homeworld. (DIS: "The Vulcan Hello")

In 2259 of the alternate reality, Pavel Chekov, along with other members of the engineering staff, wore goggles when working on or around the USS Enterprise's warp core. (Star Trek Into Darkness)

Four years later, James T. Kirk wore goggles while driving a PX70 motorcycle around the surface of Altamid as a distraction. In the same year, two members of an alien species present on Yorktown wore goggles. (Star Trek Beyond)

Goggles were used by Ezri Dax and Odo in observing O'Brien shooting a weapon at a melon in 2375. (DS9: "Field of Fire")

Goggles were also seen worn by a welder in a teaser trailer for Star Trek.
In the writers' first draft script of ENT: "Dear Doctor", "a pair of futuristic-looking goggles" were fitted by Doctor Phlox over an Enterprise officer's eyes, while the officer sat on a biobed in Enterprise's sickbay. The goggles were worn by the officer while they were given an eye examination.
