Ensign Golwat was a female Bolian Starfleet officer assigned to USS Voyager under Captain Kathryn Janeway in the 2370s during its time in the Delta Quadrant. She was assigned to at least two divisions aboard the ship, the sciences division and later the operations division.
Golwat had a second glass of Neelix's new Enthraxic citrus peel-orange juice blend. In trying to convince Lieutenant Tuvok to try it, Neelix noted she never has seconds of any serving. Although Tuvok suggested that Golwat liked it because the Bolian tongue has a cartilaginous lining that could tolerate the strongest acids, he would admit he was wrong about the juice after sampling it, describing it as "impressive." (VOY: "Flashback")
Also in 2377, she was brainwashed by the Quarren after they irradiated the Voyager and forced the evacuation of her crew. She, along with most of the rest of the crew spent approximately three weeks in the largest city on Quarra, their memories were altered and they were unaware that they had been kidnapped. (VOY: "Workforce") She would later be fraternizing with Ashmore in Umali's bar. (VOY: "Workforce, Part II")
In 2404 of an alternate timeline, Golwat attended the tenth anniversary USS Voyager reunion party in Admiral Kathryn Janeway's apartment. She had several drinks and talked to fellow Starfleet officers. (VOY: "Endgame")
In the pilot episode "Caretaker", regular Bolian background actress Mary Meinel-Newport appeared as Golwat in a short scene in the mess hall. She filmed this scene on the first day of production on "Caretaker", Tuesday 6 September 1994 on Paramount Stage 8. In the original shooting schedule for "Caretaker", a Bolian male is listed in the atmosphere section for the mess hall scene instead of Golwat.
After she was only mentioned in the third season episode "Flashback", actress Julie Plum appeared as Golwat in the fourth season episode "Hunters". She filmed her scene on Friday 24 October 1997 on Paramount Stage 8 and is listed as "Julie Plum (Bolean)" on the call sheet.
