Gray Marshall is a visual effects artist and supervisor who worked as motion control camera operator for Image "G" on Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

Marshall worked for Image "G" between March 1991 and January 1993 on projects such as the fantasy comedy The Addams Family (1991), the comedy Wayne's World (1992), and the action comedy Last Action Hero (1993). He joined Boss Films in 1993 and Digital Domain between 1993 and 1997 while working on the action thriller True Lies (1994), the thriller Color of Night (1994), the drama Apollo 13 (1995), the comedy Sgt. Bilko (1996), and the science fiction film The Fifth Element (1997).

In 1998 he founded the company Gray Matter FX, based in Venice, California. His resume as VFX Supervisor, Creative Director and Co-Owner includes work on the comedy Being John Malkovich (1999), the drama Fight Club (1999), the television series The West Wing and The Others, the horror film Dracula 2000 (2000), the action comedy Cats & Dogs (2001), the drama The Majestic (2001), the horror film Queen of the Damned (2002), the action thriller xXx (2002), the drama Adaptation. (2002), the crime thriller The Italian Job (2003), the fantasy adventure Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003), the comedy Duplex (2003), the science fiction film Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (2004), the romance Spanglish (2004), the comedy Funw ith Dick and Jane (2005), the music drama Dreamgirls (2006), the crime drama American Gangster (2007), the crime drama 21 (2008), and the drama Swing Vote (2008).

Following the closing of Gray Matter FX in 2008, Marshall has worked as freelance VFX Supervisor and Editor on the fantasy film Legion (2009), the comedy The Hangover (2009), the romance Youth in Revolt (2009), the crime drama Leaves of Grass (2009), the comedy Queens of Country (2012), the documentary Feminist: Stories from Women's Liberation (2012), and the action comedy Mikeyboy (2012).
